New contract on the Copenhagen-Ringsted Line

Today, Per Aarsleff A/S has entered into a contract with Rail Net Denmark for the execution of a 3.7-kilometre section of the future railway line between Copenhagen and Ringsted.

The contract has a value of DKK 915 million and is to be carried out as a turnkey contract during the next three years with expected completion in the spring of 2017.

On the 3.7-kilometre stretch along the Holbæk Motorway near Hvidovre, Aarsleff is to establish two tunnels of 560 metres and 695 metres, respectively. Both tunnels are to be carried out as so-called cut and cover tunnels built on site in open excavations down to a depth of 11 metres and close to existing buildings.

Also, Aarsleff is to establish a 1,300-metre-long trough structure comprising sheet piled retaining walls and an extensive groundwater lowering system.

In addition to the establishment of the tunnels, the contract also comprises construction of two new pedestrian bridges, one new railway bridge across the stream Harrestrup Å, one new pedestrian subway and rebuilding of an existing bridge.

The project is carried out as a turnkey contract by Per Aarsleff A/S. As subcontractor the subsidiary Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S is to carry out the mechanical and electrical installations, such as tunnel ventilation, power supply and fire hydrants. COWI A/S and ÅF Hansen & Henneberg are consultants to the project.

The contract does not affect Aarsleff's earnings expectations for the financial year 2013/2014.
