From working below knee height to building towers

For many years, Aarsleff only worked below knee height. We deliberately specialised in the work that many contractors found too difficult, and we became experts in creating the foundation of many structures and buildings. This is still the case but Aarsleff has now moved beyond knee height and more than 100 metres up into the sky delivering shell structures and complete buildings.

The development is a result of strategic decisions, new opportunities and a continuous development of our expertise, e.g. within concrete work. In 2013 and 2014, the timing was right for entering the market for building activities, as an increasing number of private and public building projects were put out to tender. By using our skills within earthwork, sewer work, construction pits, concrete work and shell structures in in-house production, we were now able to work from below knee height to building high towers.

A laboratory building for Novo Nordisk and the Maersk Group’s new headquarters in Copenhagen were the first complete buildings delivered by Aarsleff, and in 2018 and 2019 we entered into design and build contracts for the construction of Denmark’s tallest residential buildings: Pasteur’s Tower in the Carlsberg City and Lighthouse in Aarhus.
