Aarsleff to carry out electricity supply in Mozambique

Per Aarsleff A/S has entered into a contract for the execution of the electricity supply in Mozambique in south-eastern Africa.

The contract is a turnkey contract and consists of the establishment of 140 kilometres of 275 kV high-tension transmission lines and 100 kilometres of 110 kV high-tension transmission lines as well as four transformer stations north and north-east of the capital Maputo.

The contract has a value of approx. DKK 520 million and is financed by Danida Business Finance. The project is to ensure a stable electricity supply to citizens and businesses and is essential for growth in the country.

The client of the project is Electricidade de Moçambique which is the state-owned electricity supply company. Aarsleff carries out the contract in joint venture with the Portuguese contracting company Seth S.A. The high-tension transmission lines are subcontracted to Eltel Networks TE AB, and ABB AB supplies the equipment for the transformer stations.

The project will be carried out over a period of 30 months.

The earnings impact of the contract will be included in the total earnings expectations which will be informed as usual in the preliminary announcement of financial statements for 2012/2013.
