By introducing the secant pile wall, Aarsleff becomes the first Danish contractor to establish a construction pit quickly and effectively without nuisance for neighbours.

In build-up areas and in areas where the underground excludes traditional retaining walls with pressed or driven steel sheet piles, Aarsleff offers installation of secant pile walls.

The secant pile wall is installed without noise and vibrations and consists of bored, reinforced piles that are dimensioned to stand the load from earth pressure and water pressure, and surface load from the adjoining buildings.

Each pile is bored and cast in one single working operation: The double auger head system (VDW) bores down to the required depth, and when the auger and casing are pulled up, the bore hole is filled with concrete simultaneously. The operation is carried out without noise and vibrations.
