The Danish Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik began their annual summer cruise on the royal ship "Dannebrog" by visiting the Danish fishing town Hirtshals on the North Sea. During his stay in Hirtshals Prince Henrik visited Aarsleff's construction site at the harbour.
Aarsleff offered the prince a ride in Denmark's biggest excavator. Standing on a footboard on the side of the machine Prince Henrik saw how Aarsleff moves the stones for a new jetty in Hirtshals.
The work in Hirtshals was commenced in January 2003. The entrance facilities for the harbour are to be improved and for this purpose Aarsleff is relocating the existing, western jetty. The starting point of the jetty is to be moved 30 m while the outer jetty head is maintained.
The new jetty is scheduled for completion by December.
