Motorway E6 is one of Sweden's main arterial highways between Malmö and Svinesund.
In a joint venture with consortium partner E. Pihl & Søn, Aarsleff constructed the 3.3km long phase 8 from Håby to Rabbaldshede.
The work comprised blasting of 212,000 cubic metres of rock. The road section in question primarily stretched north/south, which meant that we had to cross the east/west mountain ridges.
In addition, it was required that transport of materials be minimized and the blasted rock material was therefore reused for the road project.
The project included four bridges. One of these bridges was a 125m fauna bridge of steel and concrete across Storälven. The contract also comprised construction of a service area complete with service buildings.
