Horizontal directional drilling at Amalienborg Palace

Most often the surroundings are the main reason for clients to choose horizontal directional drilling instead of traditional excavation. Horizontal directional drilling is fast and less harmful to the surroundings.

Therefore the method is convenient for jobs such as the one implemented by Aarsleff in the courtyard of Amalienborg Palace on 23 February 2004. 100 metres of horizontal directional drilling for two new water pipes were executed for client Københavns Energi and contractor MT Højgaard.

Little inconvenience and high quality
Horizontal directional drilling is a tested technique that enables long sections of pipe installation involving only a minimum of excavation. This means little or no inconvenience at all for the surroundings.

Aarsleff applies the latest technology when performing high-quality directional drilling. Flexible drill rods make it possible to install pipes in curved lines and over stretches of several hundred metres. Aarsleff executes directional drilling in areas with difficult or impossible access, e.g. marshes, lakes or heavily trafficked roads.
