In a joint venture with E. Pihl & Søn, Aarsleff executed 4 km of double-track railway at Glumslöv in Sweden.
The project involved toe of ballast for the railway, a 610m cut & cover tunnel, retaining walls, five road and railway bridges as well as road, cable and ground works. For the cut & cover tunnel temporary retaining walls were installed for excavation up to a 20m depth, including dewatering by filter wells drilled to 25 m.
In cooperation with Vägverket the traffic on E6 was redirected so that the road bridges could be constructed with a minimum of disturbance to the traffic.
The project was implemented under very difficult conditions and involved complex, geotechnical problems. It also included difficult temporary constructions and complicated groundwater-lowering works.
Construction of Glumslöv Station with subway was also part of the project.
