MSc (Eng) and contractor Per Aarsleff passed away 18th June 2006 after a long illness.
Per Aarsleffleaves his wife Lise, three daughters and two grandchildren.
Per Aarsleffwas born in Rungsted on 13th July 1918 and on his death one of the most outstanding personalities within the business is no longer among us.
Per Aarsleff’s career was remarkable in more ways than one. The son of a government official and Copenhagener born and bred, he created a contracting group domiciled in Jutland. The starting point was the Western Jutland lignite fields but later became Aarhus. He loved Jutland, both as a nature lover and hunter, but also as a businessman. His business success was based on his ability to find and keep good employees. He was a competent engineer and a good and decent person in his daily work.
In this leisure time he put in a great deal of work for the Frigate Jylland, The Old Town, on the board of the Danish Contractors’ Association as well as a business committee (Erhvervskontaktudvalget) at Aarhus Town Hall for several years. He held an honorary membership of the Frigate Jylland society and was Knight of the Dannebrog.
In his final years he was chairman of Per og Lise Aarsleffs Fond and was a daily visitor to the company main office where he was loved and respected by all employees. He was a culture bearer for a very long period of time and will be greatly missed.
