Civil engineering contractor Per Aarsleff A/S has signed a big contract in the Dominican Republic.

The contract has a value of approx. DKK 100 million and comprises design, supply and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment as well as construction works for the extension/reconstruction of three wastewater treatment plants, one water treatment plant and six pumping stations. The work will be implemented in Santiago, the second largest city in the Dominican Republic, with a population of around 800,000.

The contract is the outcome of a fruitful cooperation between EAC Trading Ltd. A/S, a consortium of Danish banks (ABN-AMRO Bank, Danske Bank and HSH Nordbank), Eksport Kredit Fonden and Per Aarsleff A/S.

The project is expected to produce a rub-on effect around DKK 40 million on Danish sub-suppliers and consultants.

The work will be commenced shortly after signing the contract on 5 February 2004 and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2005.
