In August 2002, Aarsleff commenced a new major contract on developing the site for a new, large-scale slaughterhouse in Horsens, Denmark.
Aarsleff's contract comprises earth, sewer, water and paving works.
The contract is complex, as Aarsleff has to execute most of the work prior to commencement of the actual building activities. The first sod was turned at a ceremony on 7 August and as early as 1 October the building workforce entered the site. Aarsleff's work is scheduled for completion at the end of 2003. The new, state-of-the-art slaughterhouse will be ready for use in 2004.
