In August 2008, Aarsleff was awarded a contract for renewal of Riga’s sewer system with Aarsleff CIPP Lining (cured-in-place-pipe). The project consisted of 12.7 km of sewer renewal, renovation of 550 manholes and 1 km of traditional open trench.
Before renewal, all pipes were high-pressure cleaned and CCTV inspected to ensure a perfect final result after relining. The renewal was carried out with Aarsleff CIPP Lining. All liners were installed with air and cured by an Aarsleff steam unit. After renewal, laterals in service were opened by a cutter unit.
The project was carried out in 16 months, and the Aarsleff CIPP Lining was successfully implemented with a minimum of disturbance to the traffic and surroundings.
