A successful operation in a not very accessible place was completed when Aarsleff No-Dig renewed two sewer pipes at the bottom of one of the tributary canals of the Elbe, in the free port area Brooktorhafen in Hamburg, Germany.
The two parallel underwater conduits are riveted DN2000 mm steel pipes dating back to 1901. They connect major main pipes at both sides of the canal. Divers revealed corrosion and leaky joints in the pipes. Minor repairs had already been carried out several times, but they were no longer sufficient.
