In October 2001, Aarsleff commenced an upgrading of the water and wastewater systems in four towns in Latvia.

The work was performed under a turnkey contract over 18 months and comprised renewal of manholes and pipe systems, new water and sewer installations, renovation of an iron removal plant, upgrading of an existing wastewater treatment plant and construction of a wastewater pump station.

The project included training of operating staff from the four municipalities.
