In October 2001 Aarsleff commenced an upgrading of the water and waste-water systems in four towns in Latvia.

The work was performed under a turnkey contract over the following 18 months and comprised renovation of manholes and pipe systems, new water and sewer installations, renovation of an iron removal plant, upgrading of an existing waste-water treatment plant and construction of a waste-water pump station.

The project included training of operating staff from the four municipalities.
