Aarsleff was awarded a turnkey contract for design and construction of a water treatment plant and a wastewater treatment plant in Rezekne, Latvia. The contract works included all civil, mechanical and electrical/SCADA works as well as commissioning, training and testing of all equipment.

Works under the contract

Construction of a fully automatic water treatment plant with a capacity of 8,000m³/d. Raw water to the plant is supplied from 4 boreholes all located at a well field 3 km away from the plant. The operation of the water treatment plant is automatic and controlled by SCADA. The quality of the drinking water complies with EU Directive 98/83EC.

Construction of a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 52,300 PE. The operation of the wastewater treatment plant is automatic and controlled by SCADA.

Pretreatment section with mechanical equipment and aerated sand trap.

Tanks for biological treatment for N and P removal.

SS tanks for settling of sludge and solids.

Dewatering of sludge by means of a centrifuge.
