Since the early eighties, gas pipelines have been one of Aarsleff’s specialities. Over the years, Aarsleff has installed more than 2,000 kilometres of gas pipelines – roughly equalling the distance from Århus to Madrid.

During this summer, several kilometres will be added daily to our reference list while the gas caravan travels across the landscape from Holstebro to Herning – a stretch of 32 kilometres in total.

Good co-operation with long-standing partner

”At the moment, we are about 35 employees as all activities are in full swing on the site. We know each other from previous jobs and everything is proceeding according to schedule”, says Gert Nielsen of Aarsleff, who is heading the contract.

Work is carried out by the consortium ”Naturgaskonsortiet Aarsleff-Bodo” consisting of Aarsleff and the long-standing partner Bohlen & Doyen from Wiesmoor in Germany.

Important facts:

• The gas pipeline from Herning to Holstebro consists of a 18-kilometer DN 168 mm and a 14-kilometer DN 219 mm
• The project involves traditional activities such as excavation, welding, laying of pipes, backfilling, reinstatement as well as cleaning and pressure testing of the gas pipeline
• In addition, the project involves prefabrication and installation of three new valve stations as well as extension of four existing valve stations
• Work is performed for Naturgas Midt-Nord I/S and is to be concluded by 31 October.
