After only five years of operation, an inspection of the sewers under 22 terrace houses in a residential area in the suburbs of Århus, Denmark, revealed leakages causing inconvenience for the residents and the environment.
Traditional repair of the leaky sewers would become rather expensive and cause great nuisance for the residents. A TV inspection showed that Aarsleff would be able to repair the damage by spot repair. The repair could be executed with a special tool directly from the installations in the houses.
In ten working days the approx. 80 drains in the 22 terrace houses were repaired. By using No-Dig techniques instead of traditional excavation a saving of approx. DKK3.6 million was obtained.
