For several years, Aarsleff has applied deep compaction for major sand reclamation works for harbour and bridge projects.

By vibrating a steel pipe with welded-on 0.8m branches into the ground, liquefaction can be obtained in the sand materials. The pore excess pressure is drained creating dense packing in the materials.

When combining the suitable materials, installation speed and vibration method a high relative density can be obtained in the sand fill. Future settlements will thus be minimal.

Aarsleff executes compaction under current control and documentation.
