Aarsleff expands road contract in Tanzania

Per Aarsleff A/S has made a contract with Tanzania National Roads Agency, TANROADS, to rehabilitate additional 68 kilometres of main road in Tanzania.

The contract has a value of approx. DKK 290 million and will be executed in collaboration with BAM International bv from the Netherlands. The project is financed through Danida Mixed Credits.

The 68-kilometre road section between Iringa and Mafinga is part of the main road to Zambia and is an extension of another ongoing150-kilometre road project from Iyovia to Iringa, which the joint venture expects to finalise in September 2011.

In addition, the Aarsleff-BAM International Joint Venture is currently rehabilitating 95 kilometres of main road between Laela and Sumbawanga in south-western Tanzania.

The work will begin now and is expected to last 22 months.

The earnings impact of the contract will be included in the total earnings expectations which will be informed as usual in the preliminary announcement of financial statements for 2010/2011.
